Now, let’s have a look at our QB picks, by expert, for week #12 in the NFL.

Zach’s Top QB: Houston Texans QB

I am not sure if Brian Hoyer will be cleared to play or not but I am starting Hoyer if he is able to play or T.J. Yates if Hoyer is out. The Saints defense is that bad and will be that bad even without Rob Ryan as defensive coordinator. This is not just a play whoever plays against the Saints situation either. The Texans pass the ball more than any team in the NFL and have one of the best wide outs in the game. Do not over think this one this week. Just lock and load the value of whichever Texans QB starts.

Brad’s Top QB: Brian Hoyer

This is under the assumption that Hoyer is suiting up this week, but if so – it is hard to not love Hoyer at this price, at home against the Saints.  The Texans lead the league in passing attempts – and the Saints have not been able to stop anyone through the air all season long.  Hoyer is at a great price, and is a rock solid Week 12 option at Quarterback.  If Hoyer happens to miss the week, I am happy to roll with T.J. Yates for $6k on FanDuel.

Jared’s Top QB: Blake Bortles

I think week 12 is a great time to look towards the young QB for the Jags. A couple of weeks ago I gave him some run against Baltimore thanks to a great-looking matchup, but he wasn’t able to come through with a big game as I had hoped (however, he still finished ahead of his 2.0 ROI target, so I can’t really complain). His price is a little depressed heading into this week’s game against San Diego, likely due to a 242 yard, 1 TD outing against the Titans on TNF. With some extra rest heading into Sunday’s tilt here, and at a very reasonable $7,300, he provides strong value against a defense that has allowed the 4th most passing yards per game in the league over the last few weeks (299 average). I’m expecting 18-22 points out of him here which would be a great return on investment.

Alex Smith, Jameis Winston, Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger are 4 other names that intrigue me under the $8,000 mark on FD this week… and all are likely to be in my GPP rotation.

Matt’s Top QB: Carson Palmer

I know that the 49ers are vastly improved at home versus the road, but I love Palmer probably far too much this week. The 49ers are 31st in pass defense DVOA and just got shredded by Russell Wilson to the tune of 260 passing yards and 3 TDs. What is Palmer going to do?

Marcel’s Top QB: Kirk Cousins

Kirk Cousins, my favorite cheap QB for 2015 season, are we looking at the next cover of ESPN magazine, or Madden game?  The answer is maybe not, but next year Kirk will get beamed up higher in the QB rankings and should keep developing his skills this year.  After getting Desean Jackson back Cousins has more weapons than ever, in Pierre Garcon, Jordan Reed, and less we forget about the running game, him throwing well should be able to open the backfield up, so remember I said to keep an eye out for Washington this year and next.

Some sweet stats to go with my choice making this pick even sweeter than a giant Cinnabon at the mall.  Kirk has thrown for 2485 yards, that’s an average of 248.5 yards per game, with a 1.5 TD average per game.  Last time he faced the Giants he threw for 316 yards, but this will be a different Kirk Cousins and a NYG defense that ranks dead last in the NFL in passing yards allowed 3099.  You know what to do.
